There are a number of benefits that you can get by adding massage therapy to your chiropractic treatments or vice versa.

Recovery is normally faster and more complete when you address all the aspects of pain. That is why the combination of massage and chiropractic can be so powerful.

Chiropractic treatments are often more comfortable when muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia are relaxed with massage.

After a relaxing massage you can feel less anxious and more prepared to comfortably have a chiropractic adjustment.

Adjustments can last longer when muscle tension is addressed and reduced by massage.

If we find pain persisting or getting worse after massage treatments I often refer clients to have a chiropractic assessment.

If pain involves a misalignment of joints an adjustment may give immediate relief as your joint is returned to its proper position.

Soft tissue heals quickly once the stress of misaligned joints has been addressed.

Chiropractic adjustments can help to relax deep layers of soft tissue that is difficult to reach with massage.

Your chiropractor often uses x-rays and other testing procedures that can show other causes for pain.

We both have the same goal in mind “your good health”.

Massage &  Medications “What You Should Know”

What medications are you taking?

Before your first massage treatment you would have been asked about any medications that you are taking.

Make sure to list them all.

This is an extremely important step that helps me decide what interaction (if any) massage may have with your prescriptions.

It’s also important to bring me be up-to-date on any changes in your medications before any of your following treatments.

Today there are so many types of medication that I will be the first person to admit I may have to do a bit of research before I can let you know how massage may affect its action.

Care has to be taken to watch for any exaggerated effects that massage may have while you are taking medications.

Massage may affect the dosage of some medications.

You may find you might need more of some medications or just the opposite for other types.

Not all interactions are bad either.

Massage can actually help alleviate some of the side effects of drugs such as constipation, muscle pain and bloating.

A wish from my family to yours “Merry Christmas” and have a “Happy & Prosperous New Year”
